The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a

* * Position Overview
** SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)
Plans, executes, and evaluates the total nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manger, Nurse Manager, and Director. Utilizes the nursing process to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Supervises non-professional personnel working directly with RN Team Leader to insure optimum patient care. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Capital Health (CH) and facility goals and strategic plans.
Assumes the role of expert for specific assigned surgical service line, and is responsible for monitoring the surgical schedule for equipment and supply needs, preparing for daily case readiness, managing surgeon preference cards. Identifies service issues and communicates and educates appropriate staff.## MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Education:
** Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelorâ€(TM) s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
*
* Experience:
** Two years of progressive Perioperative management experience preferred. Three years OR clinical experience with previous exposure to all applicable surgical specialties.
** Other Credentials:
** AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,Registered Nurse - NJ
** CPR Requirements:**
* ** Requires ACLS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to:
** Critical Care/Intermediate/Telemetry, Emergency Rooms, Pediatrics/Pediatrics Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Services (not to include Perioperative), Interventional Procedures, Observation.
* ** Requires NRP (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to:
** Maternity Services
* ** Requires PALS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to:
** Emergency Rooms, Infant Follow-Up, Surgical Services (only PACU & Same Day Surgery), Pediatrics/Pediatric ED.
** Knowledge and
Skills:
** Possesses strong problem solving and decision making skills. Demonostrates strong interpersonal skills at an individual as well as team level. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adjusts quickly and reacts positively to change. Considerable knowledge of principles, practices and current trends in nursing. Possesses good work ethic.
** Special Training:
** Successful completion of all orientation programs and requirements.

* Promotes staff development through utilization of appropriate learning resources. Serves as preceptor to mentor and develop nursing employees over time. Functions according to Capital Health (CH) guidelines and prepares staff for specific roles in the event of fire, disaster and cardiac codes.
