Lead Driver

Caruso is a family owned, 4th generation company that delivers fresh ready-to-eat, and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores all over the USA and we are growing! We are looking for a Lead Driver to start between 7 am and 11 am. This will be a 5-day work week 8–12 hour shift.

• Work closely with the Transportation Manager and Drivers.
• Complete all route driver duties assigned.
• Setup trucks to be loaded.
• Schedule daily activities.
• Assist Transportation Manager with Dispatching routes.
• Daily trips posting information in the computer and creating new.
• Create nightly signature sheets to match daily trip sheets.
• Document times of arrivals and departure of drivers.
• Driver documentation.
• Train new route drivers following Caruso Policies and Procedures outline.
• Email departures and communicate any issues with Transportation Manager.
• Other duties assigned.

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Must be energetic, motivated, hardworking, and a team player with a solid work ethic.
• Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled.
• Applicants must have the ability to work without close supervision.
• Must have at least 1 year of lead, supervisory, or management experience.
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to control workflow, give attention to detail, and manage time constraints.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have 1 year of verifiable box truck driving experience in the last 3 years.

• Reckless driving
• DUI/OMVI
• Hit and Run
• Excessive Speed as defined by DOT (15+ miles over)
• No Preventable accidents. No more than two moving violations within the last 24 months.

• Pay up to $28.00 per hour depending on experience and license type.
