Public Works Driver - Harding Township

Public Works Full‑time Position

The Department of Public Works is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual for a full‑time position. The role requires 40 hours per week with mandatory overtime including evenings, weekends, holidays, emergency weather events, and other township emergencies. Salary range is $50,000 – $60,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include road maintenance and repair, snow plowing, salting and ice control operations, operation of trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment, tree and brush removal, street and facility maintenance, park and grounds maintenance, sign installation and repair, storm cleanup and emergency response, manual labor (lifting, digging, equipment operation), preventative maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment, and assisting with township projects and special assignments as needed.

Applicants must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a minimum of a GED or high school diploma. Candidates must be able to safely operate heavy machinery and equipment, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and be available for mandatory overtime and emergency call‑outs. Prior public works or construction experience is preferred. Background checks will be conducted on all applicants prior to employment.
