The Payroll Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. This role is responsible for processing weekly or biweekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all employees. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining payroll records, entering and verifying hours, handling deductions, garnishments, and adjustments, and coordinating with accounting on payroll-related reporting. The Payroll Coordinator monitors payroll taxes and compliance requirements, responds to employee payroll inquiries, and supports audits and reconciliations as needed.
The role also involves collaborating with management and HR to implement payroll changes and improvements while protecting sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing, with experience managing end-to-end payroll cycles.
- Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and Garnishments, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Foundational Accounting skills to support reconciliations, reporting, and coordination with finance.
- Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office (particularly Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with employees, management, and external partners.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive employee and company information.
- Previous experience in payroll or accounting; an associate or bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
