Substitute pay at SWL Schools starts at $135 per day and can grow to $200 based upon days worked per year.
Location varies based on need.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Management:
* Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive and respectful learning environment.
* Enforce school and district policies and rules.
* Manage student behavior and resolve conflicts as necessary.
2. Lesson Delivery:
* Implement lesson plans left by the absent teacher, ensuring students receive appropriate instruction.
* Adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse students, as needed.
* Facilitate classroom activities, discussions, and assessments as directed.
3. Support Student Learning:
* Assist students with questions and provide guidance in completing assignments.
* Address individual learning needs and provide additional help as required.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom.
4. Attendance and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate attendance records for the class.
* Report any issues or incidents to the school administration or regular teachers.
5. Classroom Environment:
* Set up and maintain a safe and organized classroom.
* Ensure that all materials and equipment are used appropriately.
* Encourage student participation and engagement.
6. Professionalism:
* Arrive on time and be prepared for the assigned classes.
* Dress and conduct oneself in a professional and appropriate manner.
* Collaborate with school staff and fellow educators.
7. Follow District Procedures:
* Comply with district policies and procedures related to substitute teaching.
* Attend required meetings and training sessions as directed.
* Be aware of emergency procedures and follow them in case of an emergency.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or high school diploma
* Teaching license or substitute teacher license
* Classroom management skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Patience, flexibility, and adaptability.
* Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
