Job Title

Student Success Coach

Position Summary

The Student Success Coach is responsible for fostering a positive and successful learning experience that supports student retention, academic achievement, and completion. The incumbent provides individualized mentoring, coaching, and guidance to help students identify, develop, and achieve their personal, academic, and career goals. Under the supervision of the Director of Student Success, the coach conducts proactive outreach to at‑risk students, assists students in overcoming barriers to success, and connects them with appropriate campus and community resources.

The position also develops and facilitates student success workshops, supports learning communities, and promotes student engagement initiatives. In addition, the coach assists with the daily operations of the Student Success Center, including the administration and proctoring of exams, and collaborates with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance student support services and promote student success.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and two (2) years professional experience in counseling, advising, or a related field. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail.
  • Requires a
    • valid state driver’s license
    • successful completion of a background check
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public
    • Work in a fast‑paced, demanding environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Experience with enterprise‑wide integrated student information systems such as Colleague
  • Experience with an early alert system such as CRM Advise
