Job Goal:
Plans and implements assigned instructional programs.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy.
- Implements best practices that support continuous improvement in student participation and achievement.
- Aligns teaching strategies with learning styles of students and implements evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Coordinates off-site training activities and supplemental program activities such as career/job fairs, student organizations, college credit programs, externships, internships, and job shadowing.
- Develops lesson plans consistent with state learning standards and district curriculum goals.
- Encourages student participation and monitors accuracy of internal-external communications.
- Ensures lesson plans and teaching materials are available for substitutes.
- Assists students in acquiring functional skills and developing educational goals.
- Keeps informed about workforce and employment trends, identifies prerequisite skills employers require, and determines curriculum fit.
- Maintains effective document and records management systems, prepares timely files, and complies with record retention policies.
- Obtains work‑based learning opportunities for students with local employers, participates in team meetings, and plans real‑world learning experiences.
- Teaches job readiness training, including communication skills, resume development, job search strategies, and interviewing skills.
- Teach assigned instructional program(s) in applied sciences, career preparation, modern technologies, or skilled trades.
- Uses comprehensive assessments to obtain objective student data, plan services, and support inclusive educational opportunities.
- Provides timely feedback using formative and summative assessments.
- Implements positive behavioral interventions and supports to maintain discipline.
- Develops mutually respectful relationships with co‑workers, functions as part of a cohesive team, and upholds confidentiality.
- Maintains professional appearance, attendance, and work schedule compliance.
- Fosters goodwill, resolves differences fairly, and supports equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Keeps current with standards, updates skills, and uses technology effectively.
- Complies with emergency preparedness and response procedures, health and safety protocols, and disability accommodations.
- Performs other job-related duties as directed and helps implement district strategies.
- Acts according to the licensure code of professional conduct for Ohio Educators.
- Embraces high-performance standards (e.g., engagement, proficiency, resilience).
- Holds required Ohio State Board of Education credentials.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
- Active listening, creative problem solving, and good time management skills.
- Physical stamina for routine tasks (no more than 11 lbs. lifting).
- Physical requirements include verbal communication, visual acuity, fine/gross manipulation, reaching, standing/walking, stooping, and keyboard use.
- Certification:
CompTIA Security+ or Certified Ethical Hacker, CompTIA Network+ or other cybersecurity systems. - Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
