POSITION: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

RESPONSIBLE TO: DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

JOB GOAL: Provide psycho‑educational services/evaluations to individual students, and consultation to parents, staff, and administrators regarding behavior and learning concerns for students.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed to practice School Psychology in the state of Ohio
  • Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology preferred
  • Acts according to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
  • Embraces high‑performance standards (e.g., engagement, proficiency, resilience, etc.)
  • Holds/maintains required Ohio Department of Education credentials
  • Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the safety of students.
  • Provide intensive psycho‑educational evaluation of individual children identified as, or thought to have, an educational disability.
  • Coordinate the written report of the evaluation team.
  • Provide the results of psycho‑educational evaluation for consideration in the development of IEPs for each student with a disability.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other educational personnel in matters relating to the education and/or mental health of students identified or suspected of having an educational disability.
  • Counsel individually and in groups with identified students in areas related to their educational disability.
  • Maintain records on all students served.
