Environmental Specialist – Factory, Pataskala.
Responsibilities- Ensure day‑to‑day compliance with Environmental policies and regulations while focusing on continuous improvement and always placing the safety of our team as the top priority.
- Maintain a positive attitude in establishing and continuing cross‑department relationships.
- Assist with internal audits for ISO
14001. - Perform and document environmental inspections across the facility including SPCC and RCRA inspections.
- Ensure recycled and waste materials are properly stored, packaged, and shipped.
- Record and track environmental metrics such as recycling rate and other environmental KPIs.
- Develop and implement processes to divert materials away from landfill.
- Maintain environmental training and certifications required to sign manifests and shipping documentation.
- Conduct associate training sessions for waste management, SPCC, and other environmental activities.
- Be the voice of environmental and sustainability communications in the facility.
- Identify and recommend solutions for problems regarding waste, water, and air improvements.
- Stay current on RCRA guidelines and guide other teams on proper waste handling practices.
- Occasionally move materials throughout the facility using a fork truck and pallet jack.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field.
- 3–5 years of related environmental experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Environmental Regulations such as the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.
- Maintains a positive attitude and displays proactive habits.
- Possesses a high level of attention to detail and organization.
- Strong leadership presence and the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization and with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Fork truck and pallet jack experience preferred.
- RCRA and DOT experience required.
- May require occasional night and weekend work.
