Eastern Suffolk BOCES is seeking an experienced leader who values diversity, equity, and inclusion and is positioned to provide outstanding fiscal leadership to a highly complex regional organization with 51 component school districts, 8,600 students, 2,700 staff members, and a budget of over $500 million. The successful candidate will have a record of success in financial management and planning for a BOCES, school district and/or public entity.
This critical position is a member of the Administrative Council, the core decision-making group within the agency, and reports directly to the Associate Superintendent of Management Services.
LOCATION: Hines Administration Center, Patchogue, NY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion practices throughout the agency.
- Lead and support the activities of the business office, including accounting, purchasing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable/billing, BOCES aid, and grants departments.
- Ensure regulatory compliance while implementing best practices and innovation.
- Administer the development of the Agency's administrative and capital budgets.
- Support the creation and monitoring of program-level budgets.
- Facilitate year-end closing, audits, and required financial reporting.
- Oversee the co-op purchasing program and insurance consortium.
- Model strong organizational skills and distributed leadership to promote team empowerment through collaboration.
- Use data-based decision-making processes to drive success.
- Promote agency wide efforts to ensure all employees are seen, valued and heard.
- Engage with professional and self-improvement practices, modeling active growth.
- Participate in the development, revision, and execution of the agency's strategic plan.
- Liaison with component school districts; providing necessary financial and aid information.
