We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage all accounting operations for a growing steel erection company based in New Jersey. This role supports both open shop and prevailing wage construction projects and requires hands-on ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, job costing, and compliance-related reporting.

This position works closely with ownership and project management and plays a key role in the financial health and operational success of the company.

• Full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and monthly closings
• Payroll processing for open shop and prevailing wage projects
  , including certified payroll reporting
• Ensuring compliance with New Jersey and federal prevailing wage requirements
• Construction job cost accounting
  , including accurate allocation of labor, materials, and equipment
• Preparation and maintenance of weekly/bi-weekly Work in Progress (WIP) reports
• Financial reporting including P&L statements, balance sheets, and job cost reports
• Coordination with CPA for quarterly reviews and year-end reporting

• Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper
  , preferably in construction or steel erection
• Strong knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements in New Jersey
• Demonstrated experience with construction job costing and labor classifications
• High proficiency in Quick Books Online
• Strong background in accounts receivable with a disciplined approach to accounts payable
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
