LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting our Bergen County, NJ client in their search for a Senior Accountant. This is a permanent position with benefits and will require the Senior Accountant to report onsite five days per week.
CPA Certification is required and experience in a public accounting firm is also required.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Controller to ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and applicable accounting guidance issued by regulatory standard-setting bodies.
- Assist in meeting all federal, state, and local compliance obligations, including tax-related filings, payments, correspondence, and review of corporate tax submissions.
- Contribute to the month‑end close process by ensuring financial activity is recorded accurately and within established timelines.
- Generate and evaluate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses to support business decision‑making.
- Monitor and manage reporting schedules to ensure timely completion of recurring weekly, monthly, semi‑annual, and annual deliverables.
- Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with company accounting policies.
- Calculate and maintain accruals to ensure expenses are recognized in the appropriate reporting period.
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Conduct detailed account reviews and financial analyses to support accurate reporting.
- Support the preparation and review of account reconciliations in partnership with the Controller.
- Serve as a resource to management by providing financial analysis, reporting support, and accounting guidance.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors by gathering, organizing, and providing requested documentation.
- Maintain accounting processes, policies, and internal controls to support compliance with SOX requirements and corporate governance standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to evaluate production costs and identify drivers of cost variances.
- Participate in special projects and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- CPA required
- 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and tax
- Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Experience with ERP systems, including supporting system processes and internal controls
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience in Audits, Reviews and Compilations is a plus
- Experience in Financial Statements and applicable notes preferred
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines
$110k-$115k
