The Senior Financial Analyst requires a strong foundation in construction accounting, including percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting. Experience with Procore and Sage Intacct is essential.

This individual will serve as a key financial partner to Project Managers, Development, Construction, and Finance leadership, helping drive the financial success of projects from groundbreaking through final closeout. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate project financials, monitoring costs and commitments, supporting forecasting efforts, and ensuring every project remains financially disciplined and strategically managed throughout its lifecycle.

  • This role is based out of our Woodbridge, NJ office. The position is hybrid, but requires the individual to work in the office 2 days per week.
  • This is a full-time position offering full benefits, a base salary in the $95,000 to $110,0000 range (commensurate with experience), paid training and other compensation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting for multiple active construction and development projects.
  • Manage and analyze project budgets, job costs, commitments, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
  • Monitor project performance, identify trends, and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
  • Review subcontractor payment applications, invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Prepare monthly project cost reports and financial packages that provide meaningful insight to leadership.
  • Support construction draw packages, lender reporting, and related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate contract, subcontract, and commitment records.
  • Review lien waivers, insurance documentation, and subcontractor compliance requirements.
  • Perform project reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
  • Review and compile AIA G702/G703 pay applications, lien waivers, retainage schedules, invoices, and other documentation required for lender draw submissions.
  • Manage retainage tracking and reporting.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure forecasts and project costs remain accurate and actionable.
  • Monitor project cash flow and upcoming funding needs.
  • Proactively identify financial risks, cost overruns, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Support project closeout activities and final cost reconciliations.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance project accounting and construction finance operations.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, development, or another project-based environment.
  • 3+ years of direct construction accounting experience.
  • Strong expertise in job costing, project budgeting, commitments, forecasting, and construction accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to manage the financials of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of subcontractor billing, payment applications, change orders, and lien waivers.
  • Experience with AIA billing formats, including G702/G703, preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers and operational stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Hands-on experience with construction accounting platforms, including Procore and Sage Intacct.
