The Stray Voltage Testing Supervisor position supporting Con Edison operations out of Westchester area & New York City, NY.

About the Opportunity

Precision Pipeline Solutions is seeking an experienced and safety-driven Stray Voltage Testing Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our stray voltage inspection and testing program. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate detection, documentation, and communication of stray voltage conditions, while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership
  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety in all daily operations.
  • Lead safety meetings, conduct field audits, and ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Reinforce safe work practices through job briefings and continuous safety awareness.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of electrical testing equipment.
Operational Management
  • Coordinate and supervise daily stray voltage testing and inspection activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage inspection routes and schedules to maximize workforce efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure proper identification, documentation, and escalation of stray voltage conditions.
  • Oversee data collection using handheld devices and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Troubleshoot testing equipment and escalate technical issues when necessary.
  • Conduct regular field observations to ensure quality, compliance, and consistency of inspections.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Train new employees with a strong focus on safety, testing accuracy, and field procedures.
  • Conduct mid-year and year-end performance reviews.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Set clear priorities, coordinate work with other supervisors, and foster open, honest communication.
  • Lead by example, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support public safety efforts by ensuring timely response to potential stray voltage hazards.
  • Communicate company standards professionally through written and verbal correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization and with utility stakeholders.
Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities
  • Schedule work in alignment with departmental budgets and operational goals.
  • Report program progress to management and identify potential risks or delays.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business unit.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, including New York PSC stray voltage compliance standards.
  • Support storm restoration activities as needed, including supervision of Hazard Responders.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability before and after field shifts to meet operational needs.
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 4 years without a degree.
  • Related experience includes leadership, coaching, field operations, safety compliance, planning, and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment.
  • Experience leading teams and driving performance improvements.
Preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience with stray voltage testing, electrical inspection, or utility field operations.
  • Familiarity with handheld testing devices and data collection systems.
  • Knowledge of Con Edison or similar utility safety and compliance programs.
  • Experience in process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
