Part-Time Library Assistant Northvale Public Library

The Northvale Public Library is seeking a Library Assistant to join our friendly, customer service oriented team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about serving the public, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is committed to providing excellent customer service.

• Greeting and providing assistance to patrons at the circulation desk, including checking out and checking in items, renewing items, and registering new patrons.
• Answering phone calls.
• Processing delivery and transit items.
• Shelving materials.
• Collecting fines and fees.
• Assisting patrons to locate items in the collection.
• Assisting patrons with basic computer and printing needs.
• Creating program flyers and editing website.
• Help with monthly newsletter.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Fluency in Korean preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong Communication and problem solving skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, social media, internet searching, and copy machine.
• BCCLS experience preferred, but will train the right candidate.

Tuesdays 1-8PM, Thursdays 10-5PM, and one Saturday a month. Ideal candidate must be flexible with their hours in case coverage is needed.
