Education / Teaching
On‑site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY;
Miami, FL; or San Francisco, CA, with relocation support. Salary: $200,000 per year. Full‑time position.
Alpha operates on a two‑hour learning model. Adaptive software handles academic instruction in the morning, freeing your time to transform children’s lives by building motivation, teaching life skills, providing coaching, and establishing accountability. You directly oversee a cohort of K‑3 students while coaching Guides—adult mentors responsible for their daily development. You remain actively involved each day, not supervising remotely from an office.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Coaching both Guides and students by analyzing performance data, conducting classroom observations, and providing direct feedback, holding each party accountable to quantifiable objectives.
- Leading one‑hour live workshops for K‑3 students focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and feedback exchange.
- Conducting individual and small‑group motivation sessions that link each child’s personal goals and interests to tangible academic achievement.
- Creating and refining playbooks that convert your most effective practices into replicable systems other Guides can implement reliably.
- Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating excellence in facilitation to maintain standards as the team expands.
- Teaching academic content or lecturing to the class; adaptive software manages instruction while you focus on coaching people.
- Reducing expectations when students encounter difficulties.
- Managing from a distance as instructional coaches and principals typically do; you remain directly engaged with your cohort every day.
- Overseeing campus‑wide budgets, operations, and parent relations; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide performance.
- Advocating for traditional teaching approaches or adhering to a standard K‑12 curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfill Alpha’s three commitments to every K‑3 student: they love school, learn at twice the standard pace, and develop outstanding life skills and independence.
