Philip's Academy Charter School of Paterson seeks a Music Teacher to serve as an instructional leader. The teacher creates, manages, and participates in a variety of learning environments and activities that enhance student development and mastery of learning objectives. Teachers also engage in extensive professional development, collaborate with faculty and staff, promote rigorous learning opportunities, and advocate for the collective and individual interests of students and the broader school community.

• Lead direct instruction for whole groups, small groups, and individual students in grades K‑5.
• Collaborate with staff to implement a strong, engaging, integrated and appropriate curriculum.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with families to ensure consistency between home and school, promoting student success.
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Teach music classes to K‑5 students.
• Provide support during other periods of the day, including recess, lunch, and hallway monitoring.

• Minimum two years of teaching experience.
• Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students.
• Shared dedication to Philip's Academy's philosophy and mission.
• Excellent teamwork, work ethic, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication in English, both orally and verbally. Bilingual a plus.
• Demonstrate strong integrity, a gentle spirit, and initiative.

Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required; advanced degree in education a plus.

Hold a valid NJ State P‑12 Music Education Instructional Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility.

$50,000 – $65,000.00 (Guided by Salary Scale)

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
