Pay: $18.50-$24 per hour, based on experience, education, credentials, and performance
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Reports to:
Center Director or Executive Director
Tiny Steps Learning Center is seeking a caring, experienced, and dependable Pre‑K Lead Teacher to lead a high‑quality classroom for children ages 3 to 5. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, strong in classroom management, and able to create a safe, structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement daily lessons aligned with early childhood learning standards.
- Create a warm, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Use play‑based and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
- Supervise and support Assistant Teachers and classroom aides.
- Maintain positive classroom management and strong routines.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding progress, classroom activities, and milestones.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, assessments, and required classroom documentation.
- Follow all Tiny Steps Learning Center policies, NJ childcare licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- New Jersey P-3 Certification is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead Teacher, Head Teacher, or Pre‑K Teacher in an early childhood setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and classroom management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
- Must meet NJ childcare clearance requirements.
