Program Manager

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students.

Pay Rate

$20.00 - $24.00 (based on education and experience)

Program Hours

Monday through Friday: 7:00–8:10 AM and 5:30–6:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Safety & Joy:
    Model safety and joy standards, support operational efficiency, maintain documentation, enforce attendance protocols, foster respectful relationships, and maintain team cohesion and productivity.
  • Safety Assurance:
    Support and report on safety protocols, ensure all participants’ well‑being, and submit required proof of MMR.
  • Effective Communication:
    Engage families, partners, peers, and children; respond promptly to inquiries, and collaborate with the Area Manager on program goals.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    Maintain accurate student check‑in/out records and enforce “name to face” attendance procedures.
  • Daily Routine:
    Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum while providing a safe, engaging environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience balancing competing priorities and delivering quality service to stakeholders.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with children and knowledge of special needs.
  • Coursework or training in child development or related field.
  • Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills with adults and children.
  • Professional attitude toward students, parents, staff, and community.
  • Knowledge of Google tools or willingness to learn.
  • Age 18 or older.
New Jersey State Requirements
  • Meet state‑specific requirements.
  • First Aid and CPR in person.
  • Cleared tuberculosis test.
  • Short‑ and long‑term disability coverage.
Capacity‑Based Requirements
  • 6–15 children:
    High School Diploma or GED + 6 hours child‑care training + 2 years experience.
  • 16–30 children:
    High School Diploma or GED + 6 hours training + 3 years experience, OR NRPA Recreation Technician + 6 hour training + 1 year experience, OR CDA/approved group teacher/15 college credits in child development + 6 hour training + 1 year experience, OR 15 unrelated college credits + 6 hour training + 2 years experience.
  • 31 or more children:
    High School Diploma or GED + 6 hours training + 3 hours child program management, OR NRPA Recreation Technician + 6 hour training + 3 hours program management + 2 years experience, OR CDA/approved group teacher/15 college credits in child development + 6 hour training + 3 hours program management + 2 years experience, OR 15 unrelated college credits + 6 hour training + 3 hours program management + 3 years experience, OR Associate’s Degree + 6 hour training + 3 hours program management + 2 years experience, OR Bachelor’s in child‑related field + 3 hour program management training + 1 year experience, OR Recreation Administrator/Supervisor/Professional + 3 hour training + 1 year experience, OR Bachelor’s unrelated field + 6 hour training + 3 hours program management + 1 year experience, OR School Age Program Supervisor endorsement.
