As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
, you will be responsible for supporting the Geotechnical Engineer and Senior Geotechnical Engineer with day-to-day activities, ensuring geotechnical hazards are identified through geotechnical data collection, monitoring and analysis.
Key Responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to the following:
Technical- Daily production tasks relating to geotechnical engineering including geotechnical monitoring analysis and QAQC.
- Geotechnical UG Inspections.
- Issuing rehabilitation plans, & Non-conformance reports.
- Observe, interpret and monitor rock mass behaviour UG.
- Producing daily seismic analysis and reports.
- Reviewing and approving development and stope designs.
- Completing paste fill notes and associated plans for paste back filling stopes.
- Undertake projects delegated by the Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Geotechnical Superintendent.
- Monitoring progress of, scheduling, and providing input regarding existing or upcoming rehabilitation plans or Geotechnical requirements.
- Supply geotechnical inputs into the weekly mine planning schedule.
- Schedule ground support audits to meet targets outlined in QAQC management plan.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil or equivalent.
- Previous Underground experience (desirable).
- Practical experience/vacation time deemed advantageous.
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
