Design Engineer

Job Description

Lead role in the mechanical design aspects for new projects including design, modeling and testing for new applications. Provide technical guidance on existing projects. This role also includes project management.

• Analyze existing drawings and supporting documentation for use in pending Customer proposals.
• Create new designs based upon pre-existing products or based upon Customer requests/specifications.
• Prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for direct submittal to Customers.
• Lead new product design encompassing conception, market analysis, prototyping, manufacturability, costing, materials sourcing, production planning.
• Assistance with the generation of promotional and marketing materials for new products.
• Project order entry, scheduling, bill of materials generation, production job packets, and component / raw material purchasing.

• Graduate of an accredited engineering school or equivalent job knowledge gained through directly related experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Solid Works 2010 or higher
• Strong MS Office skills
• Extensive knowledge of materials with a strong emphasis on ceramic and metal properties
• Experience with ISO-9001 requirements
• Travel required
