Traffic Safety Coordinator - Part Time

The Office of the Burlington County Engineer is currently seeking a part-time Traffic Safety Coordinator in our Traffic Section.

Candidates who apply for this position must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting field investigations of traffic accidents in the promotion of traffic safety.

• New Jersey laws, rules, and regulations relating to modern traffic control and regulations.
• Various types of devices, equipment, and methods used in modern traffic control systems.
• Conducting investigations, surveys, and studies, including studies of speed, driver behavior, parking, and other related studies.
• Ability to analyze, comprehend, interpret, and apply basic traffic control laws, rules, and regulations in accord with established policies.
• Ability to make the necessary field visits, inspections, surveys, and studies involved in the investigation and analysis of traffic control problems.
• Ability to plan, formulate, and execute a traffic safety and accident prevention program.
• Ability to secure the cooperation and assistance of local officials in the administration of a traffic safety program and to work harmoniously with officials and members of the public concerned with traffic safety.
• Ability to prepare clear sound accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

This position is only open to residents of the State of New Jersey. You MUST have your principal place of residency in the State of New Jersey and you must remain a bona fide resident of the State of New Jersey as a continued condition of employment. No exemptions to the residency requirement are permitted. Out-of-State residents should only apply if they will be relocating to the State of New Jersey.

Appointment to the position is subject to NJ Civil Service Commission rules and requirements.

Traffic Safety Coordinator (Part Time) will be assigned to work 24 hours per week at an equivalent hourly rate of 27.90 per hour ($34,819.25 annually).

The position is covered under agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA). Salary and benefits are subject to the terms of the current and any future contracts.

The position will be in the Office of the County Engineer at 1900 Briggs Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ.
