Private Equity Accountant

Our client is a global firm that is actively seeking an Accountant with a Private Equity background for a promising position with their team of professionals. Work in a dynamic and fast growing segment of the financial services industry. The Private Equity Accountant will be responsible for supporting private equity clients as they optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and increase returns to investors.

The Private Equity Accountant provides services with respect to complex fund transactions. The performance of this work requires analysis of partnership agreements and sound judgment regarding proper application of accounting rules to complex transactions. The Private Equity Associate regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment about financial matters of significance to the firm and its clients.

• Prepares and reviews general ledgers, cash and valuation reconciliations, investors' capital allocations, financial statements and footnotes
• Expense accrual calculations and ad hoc custom reporting for clients
• Independently completes financial statements for all entities and demonstrates a complete understanding of all schedules and reports
• Communicates with client / investment managers both verbally and through e-mail
• Prepares and manages workflow in a timely and accurate manner

2 - 4 years of Public Accounting and / or Private Industry experience

Degree in Accounting

CPA or parts passed preferred

Private equity experience (ie : equities, futures, fixed income)

Strong attention to detail

Excellent communication skills

Highly organized
