Accounts Payable Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to lead Accounts Payable operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while working closely with executive finance leadership. This Accounts Payable leadership role is responsible for managing daily processing, reporting, vendor management, and internal controls while remaining actively involved in transactional work. The position offers long-term advancement, including building and managing a small Accounts Payable team as the organization continues to scale.

• Manage full-cycle invoice processing, including high-volume invoice entry, three-way matching, and weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, and check)
• Monitor aging schedules, vendor balances, and payment accuracy while ensuring timely disbursements
• Build and maintain vendor relationships, resolve escalated billing issues, and perform monthly statement reconciliations
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and reduce risk
• Prepare weekly aging reports, payment forecasts, and related financial analysis
• Reconcile the subledger to the general ledger and coordinate activity between accounting systems
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and paperless workflow initiatives
• Hire, train, mentor, and supervise an AP Specialist as the department grows

• 4+ years of experience managing an Accounts Payable function in a high-volume environment
• Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing Accounts Payable workflows or staff
• Construction, contracting, or project-based industry payables experience preferred
