Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Cardiology team in an adult outpatient clinic setting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a small, fast-paced department
, providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.
This is a day shift position with potential for temp-to-hire conversion based on performance and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiology consultations, exams, and procedures.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate.
- Perform and obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG tests as ordered.
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage and maintain patient medical records accurately in the EMR system.
- Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure a clean and safe clinical environment.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow‑up care.
- Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and documentation within the department.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support patient care plans.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from one of the following:
AAMA, AMT, NHA, AMCA, NAHP, or NCCT. - Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CMA experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Prior experience in Cardiology or Internal Medicine preferred.
- Strong ability to multitask and work effectively within a small, high‑volume practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
