Job OverviewThe Housekeeping Supervisor supports the housekeeping department by overseeing daily cleaning operations, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, and ensuring that housekeeping staff consistently meet established cleanliness, safety, and brand standards. This role serves as a key link between housekeeping team members and management to ensure efficient operations and a high-quality guest experience.
This position operates in a fast-paced hotel environment requiring active presence throughout guest floors, service areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role involves frequent walking, inspections, and direct supervision of housekeeping staff during assigned shifts. Flexibility is required, including weekends and holidays based on operational needs. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, leadership ability, and the capability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Job Responsibilities Daily Operations- Supervise room attendants and house persons during assigned shifts.
- Assign daily cleaning tasks and ensure timely completion of room assignments.
- Monitor room status and coordinate with front desk for room availability.
- Ensure consistent application of brand standards across all housekeeping duties.
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with hotel and brand cleanliness standards.
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues with engineering teams.
- Maintain quality control across assigned areas of responsibility.
- Train new housekeeping team members in cleaning procedures and safety standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance feedback.
- Assist with scheduling and attendance tracking as needed.
- Support team development and operational consistency.
- Monitor usage of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
- Ensure housekeeping carts and storage areas are properly stocked and organized.
- Report shortages, damages, or supply needs to management.
- Support inventory control and waste reduction efforts.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns.
- Ensure VIP rooms and special requests are completed accurately.
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence when interacting with guests.
- Support overall guest satisfaction through service excellence.
- Enforce proper safety procedures and chemical handling standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain clean, secure, and organized work areas for staff.
- Support a safe working environment for all housekeeping team members.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 1–3 years of housekeeping experience required; prior supervisory experience in a hotel or resort environment preferred.
Travel required: No travel required; position is fully property-based.
