Our client is looking for a Microsoft Purview Administrator (W2, contract-to-hire). The role is mostly remote but requires residents of PA, NJ, or DE for occasional on‑site meetings in Philadelphia. The candidate will design, implement, and operationalize an enterprise‑wide data governance and protection program using Microsoft Purview.

• Conduct a comprehensive current‑state assessment of the existing data governance capabilities in the M365/Azure data estate (SharePoint, One Drive, Exchange, Teams, endpoints).
• Review current DLP, classification, and retention practices and identify gaps against regulatory and internal requirements (HIPAA, PHI handling, etc.).
• Develop a multi‑phase Purview roadmap with prioritised initiatives, implementation sequencing, dependencies, risk considerations, and alignment with the enterprise cybersecurity and data governance strategy.

• Design and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities, including data classification & sensitivity labeling, DLP policies for M365 and endpoints, data lifecycle management, insider risk, eDiscovery, information protection & compliance policies.
• Define integration patterns with M365/Entra , endpoint and network data sources, and security tooling (SIEM, SOAR, CASB, etc.).
• Define and maintain a governance model covering roles, responsibilities, policy lifecycle management, and exception handling processes.

• Act as the primary internal lead coordinating with Open Kyber and other third‑party partners.
• Drive joint implementation planning sessions, workshops, and deliverables.
• Align internal stakeholders across cybersecurity, engineering, legal/eDiscovery, compliance & GRC, and IT infrastructure/cloud teams.

• Lead the end‑to‑end deployment program, including pilot design and execution and phased rollout across business units.
• Establish success metrics and KPIs (adoption, coverage, risk reduction) and manage dependencies, risks, and issue remediation.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive rollout strategy that includes executive communications, end‑user awareness campaigns, and targeted training by persona.
• Create operational runbooks and documentation and drive enterprise adoption and behavioral change related to data handling.

• Transition Purview capabilities into steady‑state operations, defining monitoring and reporting dashboards.
• Perform ongoing tuning of DLP/classification policies and establish continuous improvement processes aligned to evolving risks and regulatory requirements.

• 8+ years in cybersecurity, data governance, or enterprise IT.
• 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview/M365 Compliance.
• Proven experience leading enterprise‑scale implementation programs.
• Strong understanding of data classification, DLP frameworks, regulatory requirements (HIPAA strongly preferred), M365 architecture (SharePoint, One Drive, Exchange, Teams).
• Experience working with external vendors/consulting partners.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with eDiscovery, legal hold, and records management.
• Experience integrating Purview with SIEM/SOC operations and insider risk programs.

  Microsoft SC‑400 (Information Protection) and Microsoft SC‑900 or equivalent CISSP or similar.
