SAP MDG Tech Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Technical Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of SAP MDG implementation work streams within a global SAP S/4

HANA transformation program.

This is a technical project management role requiring prior hands‑on SAP MDG implementation experience. The successful candidate must possess a solid technical understanding of SAP MDG architecture, configuration, workflow, integration, extensibility, and development concepts in order to effectively manage consulting teams, review technical deliverables, identify project risks, and provide accurate project status to executive leadership.

This role is separate from the Scrum Master role. The Scrum Master owns sprint ceremonies, JIRA administration, backlog management, sprint planning support, and day‑to‑day agile execution. The Technical Project Manager owns the successful delivery of the MDG solution and consulting team deliverables.

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of SAP MDG implementation work streams across multiple global releases.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, delivery milestones, and implementation roadmaps.
• Coordinate activities across functional consultants, technical consultants, developers, integration teams, data migration teams, business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and external system integrators.
• Drive successful completion of project deliverables while managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Provide technical project leadership for SAP MDG solution implementation.
• Review solution architecture, functional designs, technical specifications, and development estimates.
• Ensure technical consistency across configuration, custom development, workflow, interfaces, Fiori applications, data migration, testing, and deployment activities.
• Facilitate technical design reviews and architecture discussions.
• Track technical dependencies across multiple SAP work streams.

• Coordinate implementation activities across SAP MDG domains including:
• Business Partner – Customer
• Business Partner – Supplier
• Material Master
• Future Cloud-Ready Mode implementations
• Ensure alignment with enterprise master data governance standards.
• Coordinate solution reviews with Solution Architects and Technical Leads.
• Monitor implementation quality against SAP best practices and Clean Core principles.

• Establish project governance processes, reporting cadence, decision logs, RAID logs, and steering committee materials.
• Prepare weekly and monthly executive project status reports.
• Present project health, milestone progress, resource utilization, risks, issues, budget status, and mitigation plans to senior management.
• Manage scope changes through established governance processes.
• Coordinate project stage‑gate reviews and implementation readiness assessments.

• Coordinate MDG deliverables across regional rollouts, ensuring country readiness, managing deployment dependencies, and driving cutover governance with the PMO.

• Manage delivery commitments of internal and external SAP MDG consulting teams.
• Coordinate work assignments across functional consultants, technical developers, integration consultants, workflow specialists, Fiori developers, and testing teams.
• Review deliverable quality and ensure timely completion.
• Escalate resource constraints, technical blockers, and project risks appropriately.

• Monitor defect resolution progress and delivery readiness.
• Ensure implementation deliverables meet agreed quality standards prior to release.
