Counsel (New Jersey):
Our client, a successful asset manager with over $25B in assets, is looking to bring on a motivated legal professional to join their team in a newly created position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a cohesive and small legal team of bright individuals. This new hire will have the opportunity to take ownership of legal matters related to firm’s pooled investment vehicles.

Key Points:

• Individual will have the chance to take on legal and regulatory responsibilities related to the firm’s various investment holdings.
• Newly created position that reports directly into the GC and works alongside three other in-house attorneys.
• Business is incredibly stable, and the firm has historically low turnover.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership over the preparation, review, and negotiation of documents for the firm’s various investment products
• Assist senior executives on legal matters related to the team’s 40 Act funds
• Collaborate with external counsel to maximize the positive impact of their services
• Prepare board materials and review regulatory filings related to the various pooled investment funds

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of related legal experience within a law firm or registered investment advisor
• Experience with registered funds is required
• Familiarity with applicable law, rules, and regulations for investment advisers necessary
• A commitment to collaboration and a pragmatic, analytical approach to providing legal advice
• Compensation: $250-300K base + bonus
