Job Description

The Manufacturing Operator/Technician II is responsible for all functions related to the processing of drug products, consistent with established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The role ensures safe and efficient execution of duties while maintaining product compliance to established standards.

Major Responsibilities
  • Execute batch record and logbook documentation with clear details and accuracy.
  • Execute procedures to clean pharmaceutical production equipment and facilities.
  • Operate pharmaceutical production machinery and execute manufacturing procedures such as dispensing, mixing, coating, encapsulating, granulating, drying, milling, blending, compressing and other unit operations.
  • Perform total changeovers and cleaning.
  • Identify and assist in corrective actions for processing related issues.
  • Maintain production reporting for assigned work unit operation.
  • Perform required in-process product quality checks and document accurately.
  • Execute procedures to complete tasks in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.
  • Work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
  • Assist with on-the-job training of other production trainees and operators.
  • Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and provide assistance to other support personnel.
  • Communicate issues to supervisor effectively.
  • Adhere to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.
Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of metric and English weighing and measurement systems.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and control system operating principles.
  • Demonstrated mathematical ability: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and percentages.
  • Ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including SOPs and batch record documentation.
  • Accuracy and precision in recording data and batch information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English to understand work instructions and document results.
  • Ability to operate pharmaceutical processing equipment.
  • Ability to meet required cGMP standards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of unit operations and the ability to assist with on-the-job training of manufacturing trainees and operators.
Education and Experience

High‑school diploma or GED required. Two years of related experience or equivalent technical training/certification preferred, or a combination of related experience and technical training/certification.

Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop or crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, feel, talk, and hear without aids.
  • Capable of lifting or carrying up to 30 kg alone without assistance; heavier weights with support as required.
  • Capable of moving machines, filled containers and other accessories alone or with support as required.
  • Work different operational shifts from time to time, including weekends, holidays and extended hours.
  • Understand spatial relationships and color distinction.
  • Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles for container or equipment transfer.
  • Operate industrial machinery such as forklifts, Hi‑Lo trucks, reach trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks, drum lifters and similar equipment.
Work Environment
  • Noise level may require shouting to be heard above ambient sound.
  • Proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and chemical exposure.
  • Exposure to dust requiring protective equipment.
  • Use of respiratory devices such as Air Purifying Respirators (APR) or full‑face negative pressure respirators.
  • Use of hearing protection under certain conditions.
  • Requirement to be cleanly shaven if using APR to ensure a proper seal.
