The Account Manager is responsible for supporting, developing and growing a complex pharmaceutical client relationship within an agency-of-record (AOR) and Creative Production model. This role combines strong client partnership skills with a strategic mindset, ensuring work is not only executed flawlessly but also aligned to the client’s broader brand, business, and market objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact for a Life Science/ Pharmaceutical brand within an AOR and creative production engagement, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Support the overall client relationship, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Translate client business objectives into clear, actionable agency strategies and integrated deliverables.
  • Partner closely with internal strategy, creative, medical, regulatory, and project management teams to deliver high-quality, compliant work.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to add value, optimize processes, and drive organic growth within the account.
  • Manage client communications, status meetings, and presentations with confidence and strategic perspective.
  • Ensure all work adheres to Life Science/ Pharmaceutical regulations, medical/legal review (MLR) requirements, and industry standards.
  • Anticipate risks and challenges, proposing solutions before issues escalate.

Strategic Mindset

  • Provide strategic input on brand planning, campaign development, and channel optimization.
  • Use insights, data, and market understanding to inform recommendations and guide decision-making.
  • Help shape account roadmaps and annual planning efforts in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Actively manage digital initiatives across brand websites, including new builds, enhancements, maintenance, and ongoing optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support website development efforts, including requirements gathering, timelines, QA, and launch readiness.
  • Manage Rep-triggered email (RTE) workflows, ensuring timely execution, alignment with brand strategy, and compliance with MLR requirements.
  • Execute CRM email programs, partnering closely with internal teams and clients on planning, execution, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal technology, UX, and delivery teams to ensure seamless digital execution across channels.
  • Bring working knowledge of common pharma platforms and tools such as Veeva (CRM, Vault), Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) to support day-to-day delivery and client conversations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 years of account management experience within an agency environment, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical or life sciences clients.
  • Proven experience working in an agency-of-record (AOR) model.
  • Hands-on experience managing digital and omnichannel programs, including websites, rep-triggered email (RTE) initiatives, and CRM email campaigns.
  • Print production knowledge and experience managing print deliverables is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of pharma marketing, including regulatory and MLR processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while remaining closely involved in executional details.
  • Strong client-facing presence with the ability to influence and build long-term partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, scopes of work, and cross-functional teams.
