Educational Presenter

Engaged as independent contractor (academic year) and paid per program

Communities Confronting Substance Use & Addiction, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that provides evidence-based educational programming in Jewish middle and high schools focusing on substance use prevention. CCSA also conducts awareness events on topics of mental health and addiction, as well as manages a support group for family members impacted by addiction.

CCSA is seeking an individual with firsthand experience with addiction who is inspired by our mission and excited to join our team of amazing presenters and educate our youth and community on the risks of substance use.

• Lived experience with addiction (family member or firsthand with at least 12 months of recovery)
• Willingness to share personal story to middle and high school students
• Ability to accurately convey the information and materials in an engaging and dynamic manner
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to school representatives
• Capacity to travel during school hours and conduct presentations to 6th–12th grade students (primarily, but not exclusively in the NY/NJ metropolitan area)
• Mental health background, experience working with youth, and/or public speaking experience a plus

• Participate in on-boarding process and presenter training
• Learn the information and materials used to conduct presentations
• Conduct evidence-based, interactive programs with middle and high school students
• Interact appropriately with audience and field questions
  
  Adhere to presenter guidelines as communicated
