Job Overview

Retail Scan Associates visit a selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer.

Being a Retail Scan Associate offers an opportunity in retail, with workplace independence, some flexibility in hours, and job consistency. The role involves continuous physical activity throughout the workday shift.

• Perform in‑store data collection at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks.
• Use a downloadable mobile app to scan barcodes throughout the store.
• Aquire quantity information for approximately 45% of scanned products.
• Complete display scanning on the entire store each week, typically taking several hours.
• Complete custom projects requested by clients, adding 30 minutes to 2 hours of work on a weekly basis for specific stores.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines and maintain high data quality.
• Report to the store and submit results within the described deadline.

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and perform bending/stretching/stooping/standing movements.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
