Position Overview
Fire Bureau is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fire Inspector (Part‑Time / Per Diem) in the Fire Marshal’s Office. Hourly pay ranges from $20.00 to $29.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Conduct fire safety inspections.
- Enforce the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code in LHU and Non‑LHU buildings.
- Prepare inspection reports.
- Investigate complaints.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
- Valid New Jersey Fire Inspector License.
- Knowledge of the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Preferred:
New Jersey Fire Investigator License (not required).
