Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Compensation ranges from $32.07 to $48.13 per hour. The position requires 100% travel, a variable shift schedule, and offers a flexible work option for remote work within the specified city, state, or region.

Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Assist with advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Senior Mobile Diesel Technician or higher. Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, manage parts inventory, and document all work using the company’s proprietary system.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections on all vehicle types.
• Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials).
• Diagnose and repair faults using test instruments (handheld computers, pressure gauges) and by road testing vehicles.
• Manage parts inventory and reconcile shipments on the service truck.
• Operate company‑issued service vehicle, including daily pre/post‑trip inspections.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs and resolve issues.
• Schedule and document all work in the TRAIT application and complete DOT forms accurately.
• Work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity within standard repair times.

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience (or any combination of degree/certification with 5 years of experience).
• Must possess hand‑tools required for the duties.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Successful completion of DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background check and DOT physical (or a current DOT medical card with >4 months validity).
• Minimum age 21, safe driver with valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift, bend, climb, stand, walk for extended periods, and perform moderate heavy labor.

• Identify and evaluate alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
• Accurately judge distances and tool requirements.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Use logical reasoning to determine strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
