An unpaid internship is available for persons interested in limited bilingual direct customer service.
The unpaid internship will last one college semester.
Responsibilities- Observe a variety of court proceedings and interpreting events.
- Participate in mentorship and career guidance activities.
- Assist court users in greeting and providing basic information in Spanish.
- Complete academic credit requirements.
- Interest in a career of bilingual direct customer service.
- Mastery of Spanish and English.
- Responsibility and reliability.
- Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university while currently pursuing a degree or graduated within one year of application.
- Cover letter referencing the announcement number and including both day and evening telephone numbers.
- Current resume.
- Current transcript showing completion of Spanish language classes at level 200 or above.
- Application.
- Recommendation from a current faculty member.
Some positions require the ability to perform work which involves climbing, prolonged standing, stretching, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Applicants must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license if operating a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties.
Authorization to WorkUS citizenship is not required. Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
