Senior QA Automation Engineer
We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright automation skills to join our QEA team in a permanent role. Your responsibilities will include developing and completing automated tests – including integration/API tests and end‑to‑end testing – to ensure robust quality coverage for our banking applications.
In This Role, You Will- Develop robust and maintainable automation test scripts using Playwright.
- Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs.
- Develop scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Selenium, Java, and Type Script.
- Conduct comprehensive API testing to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Help lead the test automation effort, advocate for automation, contribute to framework design, and suggest process improvements.
- Review automated test runs, report on automated test execution and coverage statuses, and maintain broken automated tests.
- Identify, log, and track software defects, and work with teams to resolve issues.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring four days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Mount Laurel, NJ. What You Need to Have to Be Considered- 6 to 10 years of hands‑on experience in designing automation frameworks, developing and maintaining automation scripts, and strong expertise in Playwright.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation (UI + API), test automation framework development, and test process implementation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Playwright with JavaScript or Type Script.
- Strong knowledge of API automation using Rest Assured.
- Expertise in API functional testing using Postman.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, or Azure Dev Ops for automated test execution and integration.
- Strong knowledge of testing processes/types, Agile experience, and defect management tools like qTest, JIRA, ALM, or Test Rail.
- Experience with the banking domain.
- Gen AI testing knowledge.
The annual salary for this position is between $75,000 and $92,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
