Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer to join a team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will support the growing areas of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and National Space Intelligence Center. The work supports programs that focus on space, counter space, and intelligence and will support various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams in evaluating the mission performance of military systems.

This role focuses on development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework.

Responsibilities
  • Support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and National Space Intelligence Center in MS&A projects to evaluate mission performance of military systems.

  • Develop and analyze models and simulations using the AFSIM framework.

  • Domestic travel up to 10% may be required depending on program needs.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 2 years of related experience OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 0 years of related experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Software development experience in C++, Python, etc.

  • AFSIM experience (scenario development, plugin development, etc)

  • Object detection and identification background

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach

  • Experience using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) to inform the development of systems along the left side of the “systems engineering vee”

  • Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets

  • Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers

  • Experience mentoring and developing junior-level engineers

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI security clearance and INDOC’d on InSITE

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets

  • Experience reading and interpreting systems engineering models using SysML

  • Ability to support development of systems engineering models utilizing SysML and Cameo

  • Experience using agile development methodologies

  • Experience with AFSIM version 2505

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
