Indirect Buyer I
Coordinates all aspects of the critical and sometimes more complex indirect goods and services, with $20M in spend management responsibility. This includes price negotiations, communications to all internal and external stakeholders and training of personnel. Coordinates existing supplier purchases as well as identifies and recommends alternatives in accordance with department procedures.
Coordinates all aspects of indirect procurement activities for goods and services not directly connected to raw materials or production inputs, as designated, with responsibility for managing assigned spend categories. This includes price negotiations, supplier communications, coordination with internal stakeholders, and support of procurement processes in accordance with department procedures. Negotiates pricing, terms and delivery for goods and services as authorized by management.
Procures a wide range of indirect goods and services including, but not limited to, maintenance supplies, office equipment and supplies, professional services, IT-related purchases, facility services, safety supplies, and other operational support categories.
Negotiates pricing, terms, service agreements, and delivery schedules for goods and services as authorized by management.
Coordinates with internal departments including maintenance, engineering, operations, human resources, finance, IT, and facilities to understand purchasing requirements and ensure timely procurement support.
Conducts supplier communications and supports supplier performance management activities for assigned indirect spend categories.
Assists in resolving supplier performance, quality, invoicing, and service issues in coordination with internal stakeholders.
Communicates purchasing updates, supplier changes, and negotiated outcomes to management and impacted departments.
Maintains accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Supports supplier evaluations, spend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives related to indirect procurement activities.
Provides procurement support for all assigned indirect goods and service categories across corporate and plant operations.
Conducts quality system and other training as required by corporate document control procedures or other department needs.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position has no responsibility or authority for the direction of others.
Position has no budget or revenue responsibilities.
Work is moderately complex and varied, requiring the selection and application of established procurement procedures and guidelines. Analytical ability is needed to gather and interpret purchasing, supplier, and operational data.
Bachelors' degree in a technical field or equivalent training, in a related business or technical area.
This position is an onsite position with 4 days in the office in either RI, SC or TN.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
