SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Fred & Friends (@genuinefred) is looking for a mid-level Social Media Manager to take the reins of our growing online presence and amplify our voice through creative content, sharp humor, and smart strategy. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Pawtucket, RI. This position blends creative storytelling with data-savvy thinking. You’ll own Fred’s social channels, create original content, and keep our personality unmistakable.

You’ll plan, shoot, and post across Tik Tok, Instagram, Pinterest, and more – spotting trends early and turning them into moments that make people laugh, engage, and shop. As part of a small, collaborative team, you’ll have real creative freedom and the ability to shape the brand’s voice in real time. It’s a hands‑on role where curiosity is encouraged, experimentation is celebrated, and having fun is genuinely part of the job.

WHAT

YOU’LL DO Content Strategy & Planning
  • Build weekly and monthly social plans tied to product launches, holidays, and key cultural moments
  • Know our audience – their behaviors, humor, and what actually makes them stop scrolling
  • Track performance and interpret data to refine strategy, optimize content, and prove ROI
  • Manage influencer partnerships end‑to‑end (sourcing, pitching, content, reporting)
  • Stay ahead of trends, emerging platforms, and algorithm shifts
  • Manage social budgets to support content, creators, and high‑impact boosts
Content Creation
  • Concept, shoot, and edit video and photo content using native apps, iPhone photography, simple lighting, and product styling
  • Create static posts, memes, and stories that feel unmistakably “Fred”
  • Spot trending formats, sounds, and cultural moments – and adapt them into Fred‑worthy content
Community & Engagement
  • Be the voice of Fred: respond to comments, questions, and DMs with our cheeky, friendly tone
  • Build and manage a creator bench – outreach, briefs, negotiation, usage rights, performance
  • Develop ambassador‑style relationships with fans; curate UGC for re‑use
  • Partner with retail customers on social support, launches, and co‑promotions
E-Commerce & Copy
  • Run Fred’s Tik Tok Shop: content, pinning, catalog hygiene, promos, affiliate creators
  • Update Linktree and Yotpo with new products and customer features
  • Write clean, clever copy for social, email snippets, Amazon bullets/A+ modules, and site placements
  • Support campaigns and launches with e‑commerce and creative teams
  • Coordinate paid boosts to extend high‑performing content
Measurement & Reporting
  • Maintain a weekly scorecard (reach, views, ER, saves, CTR, Shop adds, revenue)
  • Deliver monthly insights: what hit, what flopped, what’s next
  • Keep strong UTM discipline; partner with e‑comm on GA4 tracking
WHO YOU ARE
  • A creative storyteller with great timing and a real sense of humor
  • Obsessed with social trends and what makes people stop scrolling
  • Comfortable on camera when needed; even better at directing others
  • Highly organized and able to balance creativity with structure
  • Skilled in short‑form editing, copywriting, and visual taste
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and quick to pivot
  • Strong writer with excellent voice/tone instincts
What You Bring
  • 3+ years managing social for a consumer brand (gifts/lifestyle/housewares a plus)
  • Proven growth and engagement across Tik Tok, IG, Pinterest, You Tube, etc
  • A portfolio of Tik Toks/Reels/Shorts you concepted, shot, and edited
  • Influencercreator management experience: sourcing, briefs, rights, reporting
  • Comfort with platform analytics + dashboards; can turn insights into action
Tools You Know
  • Comfort with common content and analytics tools (e.g., Cap Cut, Adobe Express/Premiere, Canva, Lightroom Mobile, GA4, Linktree, Tik Tok Shop)
  • Experience with planning tools and influencer platforms is a plus
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop/ After Effects
  • Basic paid social tools (boosting, allow listing, Ads Manager)
  • SEO or discoverability knowledge
  • Amazon listing support (images, A+, bullets)
