If you love photography, video, graphic design, and social media, this 12‑month position places you at the heart of the district’s digital storytelling. Under the supervision of the Chief Information and Innovation Officer, you will create, publish, and manage engaging digital content that promotes the school department’s mission, celebrates student and staff achievements, and strengthens communication with families, staff, and the community.
Key Responsibilities- Content Creation
- Capture high‑quality photography and video at district events, classrooms, athletic competitions, concerts, graduations, and special programs.
- Edit videos for social media, website publication, presentations, and promotional campaigns.
- Produce professional graphics using industry‑standard design software.
- Write engaging copy for digital publications, social media, newsletters, and website articles.
- Social Media Management
- Manage the district’s official social media accounts.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar.
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly social media campaigns.
- Monitor engagement and respond to public interaction in accordance with district policies.
- Analyze social media metrics and recommend strategies for increasing community engagement.
- Website Management
- Maintain and update the district website and school web pages.
- Ensure timely posting of news, announcements, calendars, and emergency communications.
- Follow website accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG).
- Optimize content for mobile devices and search engines (SEO).
- Graphic Design
- Create professional visual materials such as flyers, posters, event promotions, infographics, annual reports, recruitment materials, presentations, digital signage, and school branding materials.
- Video Production
- Plan, script, shoot, and edit promotional videos.
- Produce superintendent messages, Board of Education highlights, recruitment, marketing, instructional, and informational videos.
- Create highlight reels for district events.
- Photography
- Maintain a district photo library.
- Photograph school events and classroom activities.
- Edit and archive digital photographs.
- Ensure proper photo releases and media permissions.
- Communications Support
- Assist with district newsletters.
- Draft press releases.
- Coordinate with local media.
- Support crisis and emergency communications.
- Help maintain consistent district branding.
- Marketing & Community Engagement
- Promote district programs and highlight student success stories.
- Support recruitment initiatives and develop campaigns for enrollment and special events.
- Increase community awareness of district accomplishments.
- Branding
- Maintain consistency of district logo, color palettes, typography, visual identity, and messaging standards.
- Analytics
- Track and report website traffic, social media engagement, video views, campaign performance, and community engagement metrics.
- Provide recommendations for improving digital communication strategies.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Attend evening and weekend school events as needed.
- Maintain digital media equipment and stay current with emerging digital media trends.
- Train staff on district branding and digital communication best practices.

- Photography
- DSLR and mirrorless camera operation, lighting techniques, event and portrait photography, photo editing.
- Videography
- Video production, audio recording, storyboarding, editing, motion graphics.
- Graphic Design
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Express, Canva.
- Video Editing
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Cap Cut.
- Web
- Knowledge of CMS, basic HTML/CSS, Word Press, accessibility standards, SEO fundamentals.
- Social Media Platforms
- Managing Facebook, Instagram, X, Linked In, You Tube, Tik Tok (where permitted).
