the pawtucket school department is seeking a secondary ela teacher. Under the direction of the school administrator, the classroom teacher will implement the educational curriculum.
responsibilities- plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
- provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student.
- guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
- establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicate these objectives to students and parents.
- prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
- develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- prepare a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- communicate and interact with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- supervise students in a variety of school-related settings.
- actively participate in advisory program and monitor and support students in advisory class.
- establish relationships with families to communicate student progress.

- valid ri teaching license in secondary ela or middle grades ela and all grades english.
- a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- minimum of two years teaching experience.
- full psd benefits package; 184-day contract.
- salary range is dependent on step level and degree attainment level.
