Physical Education/Health Teacher

The Pawtucket School Department is seeking a physical education/health teacher. Under the direction of the school administrator, the physical education teacher will implement the physical education/health curriculum.

Exemplary duties and responsibilities include:

• Planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students
• Providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student
• Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
• Establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicating these objectives to students and parents
• Preparing for classes assigned and showing written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor
• Monitoring and evaluating student outcomes
• Developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
• Maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices
• Monitoring appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities
• Participating in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
• Preparing a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information
• Communicating and interacting with students, staff, parents, and the community
• Supervising students in a variety of school-related settings

Licensure/Certificate Requirements:

• Valid RI Teaching License in All Grades Physical Education Teacher, Grades PK-12, All Grades Health Teacher, Grades PK-12, and All Grades Adapted Physical Education Teacher, Grades PK-12
• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

Desirable

Qualifications:

• Minimum two years teaching experience preferred
