The Pawtucket School Department is seeking a school music teacher. Under the direction of the school administrator, the classroom teacher will implement the music education curriculum. Essential duties and responsibilities include illustrating basic musical concepts, designing creative activities to allow students to experience different musical styles, providing aural training, introducing individual students to particular instruments, setting up and conducting school choirs and orchestras, planning and providing appropriate learning experiences, establishing clear objectives for all lessons, preparing for classes assigned, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials, maintaining appropriate records, monitoring appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities, participating in meetings, workshops, and seminars, preparing a wide variety of written materials, communicating and interacting with students, staff, parents, and the community, supervising students in a variety of school-related settings, actively participating in advisory program, establishing relationships with families to communicate student progress, and being knowledgeable of and skilled at instructional techniques, assessment techniques, professional learning communities, differentiated instruction techniques, managing classroom procedures and behaviors, organizing physical space to create a safe, accessible, and resource-rich environment, preparing and maintaining accurate records, RTI, PBIS, cultural competency, conflict resolution, working with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups, working effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents, and the community, working with data of varied types and/or purposes, utilizing job-related equipment, independent problem solving, meeting deadlines and schedules, working as part of a team, and being a reflective practitioner.

Licensure/Certificate Requirements:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree and valid RI Certification for Music, Grades - K-12. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and proficiency in at least one instrument are required.

Minimum of two years teaching experience.

Compensation/Hours/Benefits:
Full PSD benefits package; 184 day contract. Salary range is dependent on step level and degree attainment level. Position Type:
Full-time.
