The Pawtucket School Department is seeking a Secondary English Language Arts/MLL teacher. Under the direction of the school administrator, the classroom teacher will implement the educational curriculum. Exemplary duties/responsibilities include planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students, establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicating these objectives to students and parents, preparing for classes assigned and showing written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students, maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices, supervising students in a variety of school related settings, actively participating in advisory program and monitoring and supporting students in advisory class, establishing relationships with families to communicate student progress, and knowledge of instructional techniques, assessment techniques, professional learning communities, differentiated instruction techniques, managing classroom procedures and behaviors, organizing physical space to create a safe, accessible, and resource-rich environment, preparing and maintaining accurate records, RTI (Response to Intervention), PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support), cultural competency, conflict resolution, ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school based staff, students, parents and the community, work with data of varied types and/or purposes;

and utilize job-related equipment, independent problem solving, meeting deadlines and schedules, and working as part of a team.

• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
