POSITION SUMMARY
An established engineering firm is seeking a Bridge Senior Project Engineer with 8+ years of experience to support bridge and structural projects from design through construction. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent written communication skills, and proven project management experience.
DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform and/or oversee engineering fieldwork, including directing engineers, technicians, administrative staff, and subconsultants within a multidisciplinary team.
- Review and/or prepare engineering reports, progress reports, contract documents, and other project-related materials.
- Research and develop new techniques or improved processes, materials, and products.
- Prepare project schedules, budgets, and progress reports for active projects.
- Develop project scopes, staffing estimates, design schedules, and budgets for proposals.
- Attend and present at interviews, project meetings, and community outreach events.
- Assist with contract negotiations.
- Participate in business development initiatives and support proposal preparation.
- Represent the organization at professional and community events.
- Assist with staff recruitment and performance evaluations.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Registered Professional Engineer required.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program; master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in bridge analysis and design.
- Strong knowledge of applicable design standards and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience working with RIDOT, MassDOT, and ConnDOT preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred; working knowledge of Civil 3D is a plus.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD.PRO, MDX Steel Girder Design, Con Span, and AASHTO-BrDR preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Self-motivated with a professional demeanor.
- Active involvement in professional and/or community organizations; local leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in staff management, project management, and business development is a plus.
- Client-focused mindset and a willingness to mentor junior staff.

Salary Range: $100,000–$145,000, commensurate with experience
