Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $20.50/hr

As a Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice, you will interact with customers, develop patient relationships, and use the latest pharmacy systems and technology to support care.

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, following state, federal, and company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, greeting and assisting customers, resolving issues, and sharing best‑practice service.
• Maintain accurate record of sales, handle cash, and operate pharmacy cash registers.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and verifying pharmaceuticals.
• Support pharmacy staff in clinical services and community outreach, and maintain positive relationships with the local medical community.
• Perform telephone calls, process claims, and handle clerical duties as assigned.
• Adhere to pharmacy safety and quality improvement programs, reporting errors promptly.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through Walgreens' training program.
• Attend ongoing training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with pharmacy practice.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of retail experience.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription handling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
