Position Title:
Disaster Recovery Trainer

Duration: 9 months

Location: Remote

Position Overview: As a Disaster Recovery Trainer, you will be a key part of the overall information security and business continuity strategy, providing skilled leadership to ensure the resilience and recovery of IT systems and data. Your collaborative approach and exceptional communication skills will play a significant role in your success, as you engage and support colleagues inside and outside the organization.

As part of this team, ou will have the opportunity to create an industry best-practice program that serves as a strategic enabler for the business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy and plan that aligns with business continuity objectives that can be translated into effective, organization-wide phishing campaigns and role-based trainings.
• Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and failover recovery solutions, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to IT systems and data and develop mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate and conduct regular disaster recovery testing, drills, and training campaigns to ensure preparedness and effectiveness of recovery plans.
• Ensure 160 applications have functional failover capabilities.
• Collaborate with IT and business leaders to ensure disaster recovery plans are integrated with overall business continuity plans.
• Establish and maintain documentation for disaster recovery procedures and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Provide training and awareness programs to staff on disaster recovery procedures and best practices

Qualifications:

• Extensive background in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, with a focus on IT systems and data resilience.
• Experience in developing and optimizing disaster recovery strategies and solutions.
• Experience implementing and managing functional failover capabilities for 100+ applications
• Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies related to IT systems.
• Experience with disaster recovery frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS) are preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Proven track record of leading disaster recovery initiatives and conducting successful recovery tests.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience utilizing Proofpoint for pushing out org-wide phishing campaigns and role-based trainings

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in a healthcare or highly regulated industry.
• Familiarity with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions and technologies.

• Disaster Recovery Planning Software (e.g., Zerto, Veeam, Commvault)
• Backup and Recovery Solutions (e.g., Acronis, Veritas Net Backup)
• Cloud-based Disaster Recovery Services (e.g., AWS Disaster Recovery, Azure Site Recovery)
• Network and Data Security Tools (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Security)
• Monitoring and Alerting Tools (e.g., Nagios, Solar Winds)
• Data Replication Technologies (e.g., Dell EMC Recover Point, IBM Spectrum Protect)
• IT Service Management (ITSM) Tools (e.g., Service Now, BMC Remedy)
• Cybersecurity Solutions (e.g., Proofpoint for email security and threat protection)
• Risk Management and Consulting Services (e.g., E&Y for risk assessment and compliance advisory)
