Granite City Electric Supply is the area’s premier electrical distributor serving electrical contractors, residential, commercial and industrial customers for over 100 years. We are looking to hire a customer‑service‑oriented Showroom Salesperson for our Pawtucket, RI location. The role is goal‑oriented, motivated, and familiar with lighting and decorative trends, while embracing GCE standards and procedures. Compensation consists of an hourly rate plus showroom sales commission. Hours are 9:00 AM‑5:00 PM, five days a week, Monday to Saturday with occasional evening and weekend availability.

• Provide outstanding customer service, greeting and acknowledging every customer and maintaining high standards of product knowledge.
• Stay current on lighting and home‑fashion trends, using knowledge to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals.
• Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise in the showroom.
• Comply with all GCE policies and procedures.
• Be available to work varied hours/days, including evenings and weekends, as required by retail operations.
• Maintain general upkeep, cleanliness and appearance of the facility.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate the GCE core “care” values:

• Process information and merchandise through the Eclipse computer system.
• Read, count and write accurately to complete all documentation.
• Move or handle merchandise weighing 0‑50 pounds.
• Arrive to work on time, take breaks in the expected timeframe and demonstrate reliability.
• Show adaptability, flexibility and willingness to change and adjust with business conditions.
• Be coachable and actively participate in the coaching process.
• May be asked to work at another GCE showroom location occasionally.

• High school diploma required.
• Prior lighting/showroom sales experience preferred.
• ALA Certification preferred.
• Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
