The Marketing/Business Development leader provides strategic leadership across client development, market growth, and business initiatives for the organization. This role is responsible for strengthening market presence, supporting revenue growth, expanding client relationships, and advancing the organization’s brands within targeted markets in the Northeast. As an important member of the senior leadership team, this position contributes to strategic growth initiatives, market expansion efforts, and organizational success.

The ideal candidate brings an extensive network and established relationships within the private club, golf, and/or hospitality industry. Experience with in the club industry is strongly preferred, ideally serving as a General Manager or senior leader within a professional services organization supporting the club space. Knowledge of architecture, interior design, construction, or large-scale renovation projects is a plus.

Title may be flexible based on level of experience.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Leverage an existing extensive network within the private club, golf, and/or hospitality industry to develop strategic client relationships and business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, consultants, industry partners, and strategic stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in executive meetings, presentations, networking events, conferences, trade shows and client engagements.
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives and strengthen the organization's visibility and positioning within target markets within the Northeast.
  • Advance the organization’s market position through industry engagement, relationship development, and strategic business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with architecture, interior design, and operational teams to align business development efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client engagement, market visibility, and long-term growth.
  • Support brand visibility and external communication initiatives across multiple markets.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing resources on business development materials and brand initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency in client-facing messaging and organizational positioning.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and client-focused culture across the organization.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Extensive network within the private club, golf, and hospitality industry.
  • Experience in the club industry, preferably as a General Manager, club leader, or leader within a professional services firm serving the club industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, relationship management, and business development skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain executive-level client relationships.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Executive presence with the ability to effectively engage with clients, partners, and industry leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to support long-term growth initiatives and market expansion efforts.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Design, Construction Management, Communications, or related fields required.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in business development, professional services, architecture, design, construction, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership, business development, or client relationship management experience.
  • Experience with in the club industry, as a General Manager, club leader within a professional services organization supporting the club space.
  • Knowledge of architecture, interior design, construction, or large-scale renovation projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success supporting strategic growth initiatives and developing long-term client relationships.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally at approximately 50-70%.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both virtual and in-person environments.
